What do you like best about RAD Studio?

RAD Studio is the integrated development environment (IDE) that brings to life the paradigm of rapid active development (RAD). WYSIWYG form editor and rich native components as well as many open-source third-party components make the development of business apps much faster, visual, and develop-friendly. RAD Studio supports using the same components across C++ and Delphi projects, so you can use components that are familiar to you in every project regardless of the programming language you are using at the moment. What do you dislike about RAD Studio?

Unfortunately, there are no public components marketplaces for RAD Studio at the moment, so you need to google the right components for your projects by yourself. Sometimes, the code lint is unstable and tells you that there is an error while there isn't. If you have a very big project (millions of code lines), the compiler sometimes outputs an access violation error, then you need to do the full rebuild of the project or restart the IDE. Recommendations to others considering RAD Studio:

If you are considering RAD Studio, but you don't need C/C++, you should choose Delphi - it has the same functionality but is much cheaper than RAD Studio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is RAD Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?

RAD studio helps us to use the same infrastructure when we use all of our main programming languages - Delphi, C++ and C. It gives our software the same "look and feel" regardless of what programming language we are using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"RAD studio best development IDE if you want productive people."

What do you like best about RAD Studio?

We use Delphi because it is extremely productive. As a language Delphi doesn't have the complexity of C++ or the performance issues of Java. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RAD Studio?

I have yet to find anything that I dislike about RAD Studio. We use both the C++ environment and Delphi. Definitely prefer Delphi over C++. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering RAD Studio:

The RAD Studio product is rock solid. We have been using 10.4 since released a few months ago with no issues in our very intense applications. We are a startup company, our first product nearly two years ago was RAD Studio. After leaving Fiserv (Financial Services Company) using 2013 Developer Studio for over four years, RAD Studio is a big improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is RAD Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are creating decision making applications using machine and artificial intelligence. We have a proprietary Vector State Machine that uses a patented technology that Delphi implements with ease compared to the C++ version and there is no way to do the same implementation in Java. We are working with the Department of Defense, Insurance Companies, and Energy Companies. DoD requires C++ otherwise we would be strictly Delphi. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One Development IDE for all needs"

What do you like best about RAD Studio?

The way the IDE evolved is the best thing from a very basic pascal application to a wide range of VCL, FMX, and cross-platform apps.

I've used Delphi for years, and it is constantly the first development tool I turn too for most development tasks. With support for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, it is fantastic to create an app on any platform I need to target.
